Are your affairs in order?

Are your affairs in order? In a will, you specify who'll receive your things when you die (rather than the state deciding), and who is entrusted with your minor children (otherwise a judge decides). Name someone (an executor) who'll handle your estate, and make sure he or she has a copy (or even the original) of your will and other estate planning documents (Titles, Deeds, etc.). It's always a good idea that your executor have a list of those you do business with (lawyers, bankers, tax advisers, utility companies, landscapers, pest control, etc.) - your executor, and heirs, will thank you! Have you ever wondered how child support is calculated?

The internet has many sources of information available to answer questions about calculating child support.  "alllaw.com," gives a simple explanation to the question many ask in divorce cases that involve minor children: How much child support will I receive? According to alllaw.com,"To determine the amount of child support owed to a custodial parent, Arizona law considers the amount of money that would have been used to support the children if the parents continued to live together." This is what's known as the Total Child Support Obligation. The calculated obligation of each parent is based on a number of variables such as the gross income of each parent, each parent's time spent with their child(ren) per year, childcare costs, medical insurance, and whether either parent is paying or receiving child support or spousal maintenance (alimony) from a previous relationship. For more information or for questions concerning other elements of divorce, child custody and child support, or if you need to have child support orders  set in place, visit our website at www.docprepaz.com or call the office at 520-335-6544.

Plan for the inevitable.

Did you know that as many as two-thirds of adult Americans don’t have a Last Will & Testament? Many people want to ignore thinking about their own death as long as they possibly can. The problem with that is, no one is guaranteed to live to old age. Unfortunately, life is nothing if not unpredictable. I offer a low-cost alternative to hiring a lawyer to draw up a will. As uncomfortable as it may be to think about it, we are all going to die. Plan for the inevitable, and ensure that your loved ones are provided for, and that your estate is distributed in accordance with your wishes.
